ABOUT

"I've always had a love of performing, entertaining and putting a smile on someones face with a song."
WHO IS LIZ?

I don't remember a time when I didn't love singing and performing.
From a young age involved myself in all things entertainment: from a year 6 Musical "Dragon Girl" to Jump rope for Heart, Greek dancing or creating funky dance routines with my twin to Vanilla Ice.
I continued this passion into High school involving myself in vocal lessons, choir, stage band, Dance groups and Rock'n'Roll Eisteddfods. I also played a lead part in the high school musical "Teeth" written by our music teacher Mike Steer.
This is where the real passion for music, dance and performance ignited.
Completing High school I wanted to be involved in the arts in some way; so I decided to study music at Onkaparinga Tafe. Here I completed a 3 year certificate and diploma in Commercial music with voice as my instrument. I developed my skills as a singer and musician. Having more versatility in my voice to sing everything from Jazz/ Blues, Pop/ Rock, dance and funk.
It was time to put my singing skills to the test. I was still performing as a Dancer with local group Flava who consisted of myself my twin sister Afroditi and friend Marissa. We performed at many venues and nightclubs around Adelaide. But now I also wanted to work as a singer. So what to do? Join a band!
So that is what I did. I've performed in many bands over the last 25 years as Lead singer.
Such as Lost City, Duo: Turbulence, Funkalicious, Show band Lost in Vegas and Burning down the House, Rhythm Tec, NTT, Duo: Misjif, Rock Band Alien 8, Audio Zoo and Pulse Band.
I've entertained in venues all over South Australia for corporate events, weddings, fundraisers, birthdays and parties.
Along the way I've been a part of some amazing experiences.
In 2007 and 2008 I performed in a 2 week National tour as backing singer for a famous American Elvis Impersonator; Gary Wesley and in the next year a 4 week tour for a Canadian Roy Orbison Impersonator. We played all the big theatres and casinos around Australia.
Throughout this time I've continued to teach vocals as well. I've taught private vocals for Cardijn College, Hallet Cove High, Voice and Music Studio, Southern Music and Windsor Gardens High school. I still to this day teach Private vocals from home and offer Dance vocal classes through Flava Dance Studios.
As I mentioned above; Dance has also been a big part of my life and since 1996 when Flava began I continued to perform in the Flava Competition Performance crews till 2010. I've trained in countless workshops and classes over the years and also spent 4 years at Flava Dance studios teaching and choreographing Intermediate Jazz Classes. I still to this day participate in Dance classes / Mid year and End of year concerts, with singing/dancing performances, voice overs and acting roles.
In 2012 I created a Cabaret show “Burlesque by Satire” with the help of some friends we presented a show with dancing, acting, cheeky choreography and sparkling costumes to the stage. We performed a show at the Scott Theatre and Fringe shows in 2013.
Over the years I've never stopped loving music, singing and being creative. I've written many original songs, some performed, some not. I've collaborated with other artists, performed around Adelaide and even gained airplay on Fresh FM. Had recent interviews with Peter Goers on the ABC and Bianca Vlahos on PBA.FM / WOW.FM
with collaborator Paul Allan: we are known as ReFlex and someday we will sit down and write some new tunes.
For the past 7 years I've been performing as a soloist under the name LizBiz Entertainment. Singing at Wineries, local hotels, Wedding ceremonies. I've also been performing as Christine Mcvie in a Tribute band The Mac Band Adelaide (A Fleetwood Mac experience) for the last 5 years too.
I've always had a love of performing, entertaining and giving an audience a memorable experience.
My hope is to continue to do that for as long as I can.
